SMX is seeking a driven and talented Cloud Engineer to join our thriving Cloud Services business unit. This role is 100% remote. This individual will help deploy, configure AWS services in alignment with DoD requirements. Services are focused on AWS native services and will focus on items surrounding EC2, S3s, centralized logging, networking, security and dashboards.

The individual will be capable of working independently in the role when needed, able to act with a sense of urgency, and willing to contribute as an active member of the SMX Cloud community. A strong focus on quality, communication, customer success, and results, the individual will be working alongside some of the best Cloud technologists in the market, jointly driving to successful project execution.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• 
  

  Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed to meet customer's needs;

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solutions

  
  


• 
  

  Advise on ways to improve applications by leveraging AWS and or other cloud services, which result in cost savings or functionality improvement;

  
  


• 
  

  Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware, and operating system environment

  
  


• 
  

  Provide implementation guidance based on best practices to the team throughout the life cycle of the project.

  
  


• 
  

  Define and document cloud solution architecture(s) including technical designs and diagrams;

  
  


• 
  

  Build and deploy production systems in AWS;

  
  

Required Skills and Experience

• 
  

  Position is 100% remote

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to obtain Secret clearance

  
  


• 
  

  Possesses or is able to obtain an Associate Level AWS Certification within 90 days

  
  


• 
  

  Must have AWS Experience and certification is highly preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  5+ years of experience and knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Git;

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with Jenkins or Maven, Git/version control, NoSQL databases (mongoDB);

  
  


• 
  

  Familiar with data structures, schemas, and infrastructure;

  
  


• 
  

  In-depth knowledge of AWS services and hands-on experience in AWS provisioning;

  
  


• 
  

  5+ years of experience in development of network and system management solutions;

  
  


• 
  

  Front-end and back-end design, development, automation, and testing;

  
  


• 
  

  Strong understanding of Cloud-based application deployment architectures;

  
  


• 
  

  3+ years experience with event-driven architectures and RESTful API design

  
  

Desired Skills and Experience

• 
  

  AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional

  
  


• 
  

  AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate or Professional

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent leadership, peer management, and communication skills;

  
  


•
