your life's best work* SM* This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

_*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy._.Primary Responsibilities:* + Identifies, analyzes, and researches frequent root causes of denials and develops reporting tools that effectively measure and monitor in order to support process improvement for Coding, Contracting, and Clinical Documentation + Maintain denial/appeal process in collaboration with Patient Business Services. Communicate denial trends in order to positively affect the volume of denials + Identify and communicate denial trends in order to positively affect the volume of denials + Responsible for the DRG/APC denial and appeal management process.

Performs the necessary coding and documentation validation to respond to payor denials. Maintain tracking and provide trending of denial data to revenue cycle stakeholders. + Other duties as assigned.

You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in Required Qualifications:* + Associates Degree (or higher) + 3+ years of inpatient coding experience + Ability to compose coding appeals based on documentation, coding guidelines and Coding Clinic for coding denials and/or adjustments. + Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office. + RHIT or RHIA licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:* + Previous denials experience but willing to train.Telecommuting Requirements:* + Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy + Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable) + Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed Internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed Internet service.Soft Skills:* + Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $23.94 - $42.40.
