What You Will Be Doing
Perform activities concerned with electrical design, testing, and manufacture of products under the supervision of Engineering Management, following standardized procedures. Develop conceptual designs of major components and systems which meet established objectives of assigned products/programs. Design and carry out experiments to test design concepts. Prepare engineering calculations, diagrams, and technical reports. Interface with vendors to assure detailed drawings conform to manufacturing or integration processes. Perform activities concerned with building prototype products for proof of concept and customer deliverables. Employs analytical engineering methods to model and simulate equipment to reduce trial and error testing. Test electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and need of adjustment. Document electrical design change. Apply electrical abilities to produce mock-up and functional pre-production products. Travel to contract manufacturers (including international) may be required to perform job functions.
Minimum Education/Experience Required
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
6+ years experience of related PCB design experience
Strong experience in digital design
Experience with analog and digital systems
Experience with micro-controllers
Experience with ARM core processors
Proficient in Schematic capture and PCBA layout techniques
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills including usage of standard lab equipment
Familiarity with PCBA manufacturing practices
Experience with embedded software development for microcontrollers
