About Platform Engineering & PKI Services:


We build and support technology that powers our business and enables product teams to deliver new capabilities. Our team plays a critical role in delivering reliable, secure, and highly automated services to Partners in our stores. We use cloud-based and open-source technologies to solve meaningful problems. As a team, we focus on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.


Some things for you to tackle include:




  • Design and implementation of new features using Infrastracture-as-Code tools like Helm, and Terraform or systems development languages like Go




  • Bug fixes, or enhancement of existing tools, automation, and infrastructure




  • Implementing solutions to increase the observability and reliability of our services




  • Working closely with other engineers, and architects to develop the best technical design and approach



  • Collaborating with other cross-functional teams to deliver our services


Preferred Experience:




  • Strong proficiency in at least one systems language (Go / Python)




  • Familiarity with Git




  • Familiarity with Azure / AWS




  • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent communication and the strong ability to collaborate well with others



  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to design pragmatic solutions.


About the Starbucks Summer Internship Program:


The Starbucks Technology Internship Program is paid, full time, 12 week program, designed to provide students with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience in a field of interest and expertise within the Starbucks Technology Enterprise. This is a pipeline for full-time talent; each student selected for a Starbucks internship may be considered for full-time career openings upon successful completion of their internship and as opportunities become available within the organization. Roles may be based out of the Seattle Support Center or the Starbucks Technology Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Internship Program Qualifications:




  • Active enrollment in an accredited Undergraduate or Graduate program




  • Preferred (but not required) minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0




  • Ability to work 12 weeks (May-August), Full-Time (40hrs/week)



  • Eligibility to work in the United States
