Abt Associates seeks an experienced, agile and creative Marketing & Communications Manager to advance its storytelling and positioning for Abts strategic priorities of climate, environment and equity. In this role, the Marketing & Communications Manager will develop and deliver marketing communications strategies and products that support key business priorities and opportunities.

The Marketing & Communications Manager will be based in Abts corporate Marketing & Communications department, working closely with a dynamic global team, including Abts new Chief Climate Officer Group, Chief Global Equity Officer and Team, and division staff, to implement timely, innovative marketing and communications strategies and products that deliver on our mission.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide cutting-edge, trend-informed strategic guidance on communication products and messaging tied to climate, environment and equity.
  • Develop a marketing strategy plan to communicate Abts value and transdisciplinary work across Abts broader portfolios that maximizes opportunities to connect the dots
  • Collaborate with portfolio and client account leads to set marketing communications strategies that are aligned with portfolio/account plans.
  • Develop and foster relationships with key clients, staff and partners to help raise awareness of key staff, projects and capabilities.
  • Coordinate with MarComm pillars, and other divisions and subsidiaries to surface content and develop products that elevate Abts voice in strategic markets.
  • Create and maintain messages (e.g., talking points, statements, battle cards)
  • Build thought leadership profile for topical experts by working with PR and media team for earned media, speaking engagements, and other external opportunities (e.g., panels, keynotes, speaking events)
  • Support Abts presence and brand at key global forums, conferences and events.
  • Provide content guidance and support for marketing collateral, ensuring all materials adhere to Abt and client standards, including accessible, inclusive, and plain language.
  • Use existing tracking and production tools and processes to efficiently coordinate communications and outreach initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall corporate communications strategy and participate in company and division activities related to strategic planning.
  • Use metrics about web, social and other digital marketing efforts (e.g., e-newsletters/e-blasts) to help identify additional strategies and tactics to market/promote Abt.
  • Stay up-to-date with business trends, the competitive landscape and other opportunities to better position Abt externally.
  • Lead the development, production, and updates to marketing materials to capture trends, opportunities and new expertise/experiences that are relevant to strategic positioning in the market in collaboration; materials may include brochures, digital insights, compendiums, newsletters, videos, blogs, and other web/digital/print content.
  • Drive communications strategies forward by coordinating with social/digital, editorial/media and creative services teams to promote research findings, reports, impact stories, thought leadership pieces, lessons learned, new wins and other information that advance the companys strategic goals.
  • Work with Global Business Development Unit to stay up to date on pipeline opportunities and develop promotion plans to support key bids and capture activities.
  • Work with other comms and Chief Growth Office (CGO) staff to triage information provided through BD/pipeline meetings to shape strategy across the corporation. Ensure that cross- company communications plans are tied to BD opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in journalism, communications/marketing, public relations, public health, environmental health, or other relevant field, and nine years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience in climate change mitigation, adaptation, renewable energy, environment, equity, environmental justice; social determinants of health; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and/or related fields.
  • Demonstrated results in writing and developing concise, compelling communication products and outreach campaigns, ideally for domestic and/or international government agencies, private sector and other stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in creating and executing effective communications strategies.
  • Team player; able to work collaboratively with multicultural and globally diverse teams in virtual/in-person settings.
  • Awareness of language preferences, clearance/approval standards, and other sensitivities for U.S. government clients, host-country stakeholders, and other audiences.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft 365, and/or other industry-related design and communications software.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional collaboration, strategic thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree + Nine years of relevant experience, or Masters Degree + Seven years of relevant experience, or PhD + Four years of relevant experience

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $91,408.75 to $146,254.01 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
