The Senior Business Systems Analyst - Core Systems position is responsible for performing moderately complex research and Core System analysis, which supports business operations. This position analyzes business requirements, operational policies, procedures and practices, and other relevant data in order to prepare appropriate recommendations and implementations that support business operations within the Core System.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

• Act as liaison or primary contact between Business Users, Internal Technical Team and Vendors. Work closely with Core System Team and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
• Elicit, understand, and document business requirements, related business rules and business processes for the Core System. Perform business and functional analyses and create detailed business and functional requirements. Document functional and non-functional requirements. Present business and technical requirements to Core System team and ensure conditions of acceptance are understood. Be responsible for answering questions from the team members and removing requirement road blocks to success. Develop and recommend alternative solutions by preparing and evaluating alternative workflows. Facilitate the design of integrated solutions (process, technical & organizational); ensure the end-to-end solution delivers the required business results.
• Develop use cases, test plans, test cases, define and document procedures and workflows, perform testing, provide user documentation, user training, and post implementation support.
• Drive adoption of the designed processes and solution with stakeholders. Communicate with Business to ensure expectations are aligned with project status. Drive the definition, testing, training, and implementation of functional requirements. Upon implementation, drive knowledge transfer to Business units.
• Perform moderate to complex research and analysis on a variety of topics related to the overall support of business operations within the Core System.
• Consolidate research and analysis into summarized findings and develop recommendations to solve Core System issues related to business operations, and distinguish user wishes from the underlying true needs.
• Collaborate with organizational Teams and Business to better understand operational needs.
• Summarize and present analysis, findings and recommendations for Core System solutions to Team members, Leadership Team and/or Management.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
• Participate in special projects and initiatives that are designed to improve operational efficiencies and overall business performance.
• Generate ad hoc reports using Excel, Access and/or SQL.
• Provide Core System support and troubleshooting of issues.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices.
• Support and participate in projects and business critical strategies.
• Understand Core System design.
• Core System set up and configuration.
• Data Mapping.
• Testing and QA.
• Produce and deliver the following artifacts as required - Functional and User documentation, data element and table definitions, transaction definitions and use cases.
• Training.
• Performs Core (currently IDX) system support, setup, analysis, design, mapping, testing, troubleshooting, implementation and daily operational activities. Ensures all daily IT processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Works to ensure effective Core System support is provided to maintain ongoing Business operations. Works to build and maintain PMS Core System capabilities to the highest degree of expertise. Troubleshoots Core application processes for errors. Identifies information requirements to improve business processes, and supports critical business strategies. Responsible for issue resolution, maintenance of systems critical to business needs.
• Create and support new and existing reports. Analyzes root cause of errors; communicates errors to the appropriate clients and escalates system errors, issues, or problems to the Business Unit Manager. Assists in the research and evaluation of additional technical capabilities required in support of the client's needs.
• This position will assess business goals, objectives and direction for the Core System, and the ability to meet those needs. Must be able to bridge business needs with technical solutions, options and feasible workarounds.
• Works with management to integrate business needs into the development of Portfolios, Roadmaps, Back Logs, Prioritization and Requirements.
• Implement and evangelize Agile and Scrum development processes across all project members, customers and stakeholders. Formalize development processes through documentation and dissemination of information. Ensure that all forms of technical debt are identified, tracked, communicated and addressed.
• Evaluate and manage assigned helpdesk tickets. Documenting changes and step by step instructions for end users. Attend meetings as required. Take appropriate steps to ensure that code changes are approved through the Change Management guidelines. Represents Prospect Medical as needed at conferences and seminars. Provides training for new IT employees and orients them with Prospect Medical organization.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience: Five to Eight (5-8) years of directly related operational, analytical and Core System experience as a System / Business Analyst in a Managed Care or Health Care environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. GE Centricity Business (IDX) a plus, or other Healthcare Core Systems (EPIC, Facets, CSC, MC400, QNXT, EZCap etc.). Successful project involvement. Exposure to re-engineering and process improvement techniques.Working knowledge of relational databases. Familiarity with SQL language a plus. Proficient with Microsoft products (Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, Visio, Powerpoint).
