Job Description

Job Summary: Lumencor s Global Sales Manager is responsible for advancing the goals and objectives of the Sales and Marketing team. Driving and managing sales growth of Lumencor s light engines and optical subsystems in materials science test equipment is of primary importance. Key channels and partners include the company s international network of customers including but not limited to lighting distributors, semiconductor test and measurement OEMs, other manufacturers of industrial test equipment. Existing, ongoing Lumencor corporate accounts will serve as a template for recognizing new opportunities; therefore, key responsibilities focus on growing those accounts as well as expanding into new territories and identifying other opportunities within and across other industrial business sectors.

Essential Functions:

  1. Identify, prioritize, manage and sell Lumencor s lighting products to materials science and industrial test and measurement manufacturers and resellers.
  2. Work with Lumencor s Executive Vice President and Sales Director to develop and build new business from leads and existing industrial customers.
  3. Travel to support training, education and business development to increase sales.
  4. Maintain detailed customer records and document all customer and prospect interactions, using SalesForce CRM.
  5. Plan, engage and maintain a scheduled list of introductions, demonstrations, trainings and support tasks as needed to manage the collective base of Lumencor s industrial market customers and OEMs.
  6. Maintain an organized working style with visible calendaring and detailed administrative practices for ongoing sales efforts as well as forecasting.
  7. Use trade shows to engage customers and provide sales support and training.
  8. Meet and exceed demanding sales goals and quotas.
  9. Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability and credit terms.
  10. Quote prices, credit terms or other bid specifications.
  11. Keep current product knowledge and feed competitive product information back to Lumencor s sales, marketing and engineering teams.
  12. Distinguish and emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
  13. Provide routine feedback and reports on business development, sales, travel and management of key accounts. Maintain monthly, weekly, daily updates on key corporate accounts as needed by your manager.
  14. Drive revenue through recognition and realization of sales opportunity within the industrial market.

Education Training and Experience

  1. This position requires a 4-year Bachelors Degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or another relevant technical field.
  2. Additional Marketing, Business Management, Business Development or related field education a plus.
  3. Ideally, a minimum 5 years of manufacturer-to-manufacturer sales experience in the materials science, microscopy, medical device and/or research fields.
  4. Documented and verifiable track record of exceeding sales goals and targets.
  5. Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written skills required.

Language Skills:

Mathematical Skills:

Computer Skills:

Experience working in a Mac environment. Experience with SalesForce or other CRM application. Familiarity with common database structure, proficient as a database enduser. Proficient in MS Office or Mac Office product suites. Experience with FileMaker Pro preferred.

Work Environment and Conditions:

Due to the nature of the products manufactured at Lumencor, there is potential exposure to risk of electrical shock, to caustic chemicals, and to lasers which may be harmful to the eye.

Noise Level:

Exposed to moderate noise level; similar to a business office, or light traffic.
