BUSINESS ANALYST
Metal Goods Manufacturing (MGM) is looking for a bright, entrepreneurial candidate to join our team as a business analyst. This new position reports directly to the president and is suited for someone with a technical background willing to learn and work hard. The ideal candidate will have previous manufacturing experience and working knowledge of ERP systems. We are a small but fast growing company. This position will have a variety of responsibilities, so no two days will be alike! The business analyst role is open to candidates residing in Bartlesville, Oklahoma or Columbus, Georgia and will be based out of either manufacturing facility.
Assist with Operations Management at New Business Unit in Columbus, GA
- Establish vendor database with newly acquired business unit
- Provide customer support (order updates and delivery estimates) to key customer accounts
- Maintain production schedule and track daily production
- Serve as point of contact at facility for operational issues and delays
- Enter production data into computer system
- Coordinate with quality department to minimize scrap and reject rates
- Seek to explain variance of estimated vs. actual daily production
- Interview hourly/shop floor candidates and offer hiring recommendations
- Assist with employee onboarding and conduct periodic employee reviews
ERP Optimization
- Serve as project manager on various ERP optimization initiatives:
- Physical paperwork reduction projects
- Using the ERP to streamline administrative processes
- No coding required: work with vendors to write code
- Enter new parts into our ERP
- Troubleshoot problems within the system and serve as a resource to team members
- Customize reports through Crystal Reports as needed
Business Development and Marketing
- Help launch new product lines, researching competitor pricing and target markets
- Identify potential new clients for MGM’s current product lines
- Assist with customer RFQs
- Finalize content for website launches of various business units
- Prepare marketing collateral for customers as needed
- Produce product-driven blog posts for website
Manufacturing Engineering
- Coordinate with laboratories for material testing and analysis
- Evaluate raw material costs to ensure customer pricing is consistent with target gross margins
Ideal Qualities and Skills:
- Manufacturing experience (5 years in a technical, finance, or managerial role)
- Bachelors’ degree in accounting, business, finance, or industrial engineering
- Must have played an active role in at least one ERP implementation
- Willingness to travel to the Tulsa, OK area for monthly meetings
- Must excel at multi-tasking
- Must enjoy walking the factory floor and being hands-on with production
About the Company. MGM is a family-owned, fast-paced manufacturer located in downtown Bartlesville that has been serving flow control and liquid transportation markets since its founding in 1939. Out of our 34,000 square foot production facility, we ship valves, rail tank car valves/fittings, and LPG sampling equipment to customers throughout the world.
