Mechanical Design Engineer

Nikkiso Cryogenic Industries is a leading manufacturer of industrial equipment used in the Industrial Gas, LNG, Oilfield Services and related industries. The company, headquartered in Temecula, California, has manufacturing and service locations in 13 countries around the world.

This position is based at ACD, LLC, located in Santa Ana, CA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design components and systems within the pump product line including:

• 
  
  
  
  • Reciprocating & Centrifugal pumps
  
  
  • Skid assembly for mounting pumps and auxiliary systems
  
  
  • Skid structural design
  
  
  • Piping design, routing, and support
  
  
  • Lube oil systems
  
  
  • Control system electrical panels
  
  
  • Instrumentation
  
  
  
  


• Size and select system components.


• Design for Manufacturing skillset is highly desired.


• Model in SolidWorks Pump components and create assemblies.


• Prepare P&ID, General Arrangement and Installation drawings for Customer submittal.


• Prepare manufacturing assembly drawings for Production.


• Prepare electrical wiring schematics.


• Review customer specifications and incorporate into existing or new systems.


• Work closely with Design Team, Project Engineers, and Product Engineers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.


• Technical Degree in Mechanical Design & Drafting.


• Experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, and test environment.


• High level of expertise and experience utilizing SolidWorks for 3-D modeling and 2-D detailing of components & assemblies for large, complex systems.


• Two years experience in a systems engineering and manufacturing environment, designing rotating equipment such pumping systems, steam or gas turbines, or centrifugal or reciprocating compressors.


• Experience designing complex skidded system assemblies including piping and electrical wiring.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers and photocopiers.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Requires ability to use a computer, type on keypad, and answer phones.
