We are seeking Back End/Full Stack Software Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.
The Application Scaffolding Pipeline (ASP) team enables developers to expedite new application/project setup through automation and scaffolding (initial project setup, CICD, etc.) using pre-configured project templates. This enables developers to start working directly on their feature code, rather than having to worry about all the details of the initial setup of a new project.
The application creates new serverless projects, lambdas and container based applications, as well as datastore implementations.
The team creates these templates to support four language based applications - Python, Java, NodeJS and GoLang and many application configurations - Lambdas, ECS clusters, Fargate, Static content sites, and multiple datastore implementations.
What You'll Do:
Assist in building out additional templates and improving the ones we currently support
Collaborate with external teams to assist them in development of their own templates for common use cases
Ensure vulnerabilities are well managed through process, tooling, and automation improvements
Design and implement new automation pipelines and processes
Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: TypeScript, Python, GoLang, or Node.js
4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
2+ years of experience in Agile practices
1+ years of people management experience
