General Purpose:


The Solutions Architect II is responsible for providing high quality solution driven sales support for all TPx products, with a specific focus on targeted products matching the company's strategic directions. This will include providing product expertise to assist sales with designing custom solutions, resolving technical issues identified in the pre-sales process, responding to customer inquiries, and otherwise assisting in closing prospective business opportunities.


The Solution Architect II is a client-facing position, responsible for providing training and technical support of TPx UCx, MSx, and related products and services. As a subject matter expert, he/she should provide sales support - including customer meetings, customer presentations, defining process, working closely with business partners on configuring and designing solutions, and conducting complex TPx product demonstrations. Reports to the Supervisor or Manager of Solutions Architects. Direct reports of this position: the employee will self-manage daily workflows from the Solution Consultant Tracker and will not have any


supervisory duties to exercise over any other employees.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Assist with UCx and MSx sales opportunities.

  • Understand customers' overall infrastructure estate, IT and business priorities and success measures to design implementation architectures and management solutions (Microsoft and 3rd party solutions).

  • Apply technical knowledge and customer insights to create a modernization road-map and architect solutions to meet business UCaaS, and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects and successful deployments, orchestrating key resources and infusing key infrastructure technologies (e.g. Security, Storage, O365, Endpoint Management, and Networking).

  • Assist TPx departments on inquiries regarding new and current voice and IT deployments and reconfigurations.

  • Complete Statement of Work and Virtual Site Surveys for UCx and MSx as required.

  • Prepare system solutions for review with Solutions Architect III and/or engineering to include UCaaS, Contact Center, professional services server upgrade/migrations, data center migrations, backup and business continuity plans and non-standard Office 365 migrations.

  • Complete necessary documentation to support the sales process including but not limited to Requests for Proposals (RFP), Network Diagrams, Call Flows, Back-up planning, Office 365 Scope of Work, and other similar documentation.

  • Meet with customer contacts (both managerial and technical) to position TPx products appropriately and drive the sales to completion.

  • Conduct sales presentations demonstrating TPx's professional solutions to meet customer's specific telecommunications managed information technology needs.

  • Attend Sales and Branch meetings on a regular basis.

  • Responsible for providing additional training for all sales channels on all TPx services, which will also include how to identify and qualify opportunities.

  • Responsible for providing supplemental training on TPx products to Sales, Agents, & Vendors.


Peripheral Duties:



  • Promote and educate other TPx departments on technology regarding industry standards, new technology, and TPx.

  • Provide information and feedback to Product Marketing regarding product positioning within the marketplace, customer acceptance, frequent issues, etc.

  • Assist as needed with projects regarding customer accounts and internal systems.


Desired Minimum Qualifications:


Education and Experience:



  • Graduation from an accredited Two or Four-year College or University with a degree is required.

  • A business, Computer Science, Marketing, or Electrical Engineering degree is preferred.

  • Five to Ten (5 - 10) years of experience in direct sales, or

  • Three to Five (3 - 5) years of PBX sales, design, or installation preferred

  • Three to Five (3 - 5) years of experience in Sales Engineering, or similar preferred

  • Three to Five (3 - 5) years of experience in network design preferred

  • Cisco Certified Design Associate, Microsoft, Fortigate NSE (1 - 3), Microsoft Certified Fundamentals or MCSA certification and or other telecommunications/IT certifications preferred

  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience.


Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information into layman's terms.

  • Documentation and project management skills for both internal and customer facing purposes.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Foundational knowledge on TCP/IP, MPLS, VPLS, LAN/WAN, Ethernet, SIP, CoS, QoS, UCaaS, Contact Center, Cybersecurity best practices, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Server OS's and Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions.

  • Must have the ability to regularly communicate in a manner that is respectful, professional and collaborative.


Special Requirements:



  • Will be required to drive for customer prospecting and appointments (approximately 40%).

  • Will be required to travel outside of their region on an occasional basis (approximately 20%).

  • Will be required to have a flexible work schedule as may be required to work longer than 8 hours per day as require.

  • May be required to work either before or after business hours as required.

  • Must have a valid Drivers' License.

Personal computer, including word-processing, database and spreadsheet programs; calculator, telephone, copy and fax machine.
