Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for obtaining the best value through purchasing, managing supplier relationships, and supporting new product development. This role involves daily purchasing for production needs, overseeing purchases, and using MRP-ERP systems to perform duties. The successful candidate will ensure all procured items meet required quality standards and necessary specifications.
Responsibilities
- Obtain best value through purchasing.
- Manage supplier relationships with the goal of positive relationships and favorable purchasing agreements.
- Material operations buying for service, facilities, and capital purchases.
- Support new product development team in finding alternative and requested materials to support new product launches.
- Understand technical specifications to ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and necessary specifications.
- Perform daily purchasing for production needs and oversee purchases.
- Use MRP-ERP system to perform duties.
- Manage supplier documentation in quality system.
- Seek suppliers, get quotes, place orders, and track orders.
- Communicate effectively and professionally via phone and written correspondence.
Essential Skills
- 2-10 years of experience in purchasing or directly related work.
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Team player who can work with internal and external partners.
- Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Experience with MRP-ERP business systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Background in purchasing desired.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with purchasing raw materials is helpful.
- Market knowledge of aluminum & copper materials and services to support manufacturing preferred.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position working in an office environment within a cubicle with the purchasing team. The hours are 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Benefits include potential for monthly bonuses, HSA Health Insurance, PTO (2 days in the first year and then 12 days the second year, with rollover), 40 hours of sick leave (does not roll over), and a 401K plan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
