Job Summary: The Coder I Specialist codes ER's and/or outpatients records.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Codes ER's and /or outpatients.
- Works CCI/medical necessity edits as needed.
- Monitors unbilled for ER's/outpatients ensuring all accounts are coded on a day-to-day basis.
- Maintains quality equal to or greater than 95%.
- Maintains productivity equal to or greater than 95%.
- Completes continuing education as required.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None. CCS preferred.
Work Experience: New graduate coder from accredited program and a score of 80% or above on the outpatient coding exam.

Schedule: 7a - 3p (Days), Hourly Full Time, 40.00
