Position Summary


At Stony Brook Medicine, the Systems Analyst is a valuable member of our Cardiology IT team. The candidate will support the technology solutions used in the Stony Brook University Hospital Heart Institute and ambulatory cardiology sites. The candidate will support cardiology applications, modalities and workflows. The candidates will demonstrate superior communication and organizational skills, adhering to our high standard of excellence. The candidate will interact with a variety of stakeholders, including physicians, clinicians, operations personnel and information technology analysts and technicians to maintain and advance our excellent level of service.


Duties of a Systems Analyst - Cardiology IT may include the following but are not limited to:



  • Provides technical and application support for clinical applications, including system implementations and upgrades.

  • Assists with the planning and coordination of Cardiology IT related projects and initiatives.

  • Assists in testing system functionality and validation.

  • Engages in issue tracking, follow up and resolution.

  • Escalates major issues and works closely with vendors and internal resources to resolve open issues.

  • Provides workflow support to users, including training and education.

  • Develop statistical reports to satisfy client data needs using a variety of tools.

  • Develops documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.


Qualifications


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of information technology support.

  • In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, A.A.S. degree with minimum of 4 years of information technology support.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Detail oriented and have strong analytical and organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with cardiology systems and/or processes.

  • Experience with clinical workflows.

  • Project management experience.

  • Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, Crystal Reports, Tableau.

  • Understanding of HL7 interfaces and system integrations.

In accordance with the New York State Department of Health (DOH) regulation that all hospitals and nursing homes "continuously require all personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19," Candidates who are not already partially vaccinated must obtain the first dose of the vaccine within three (3) calendar days of acceptance of conditional job offer and must obtain any subsequent doses in accordance with the vaccine protocol Candidates who are partially vaccinated, but not yet fully vaccinated, must complete their vaccination series within three (3) calendar days of job offer or in accordance with vaccine manufacture protocol, whichever comes later.


The regulation also includes those who may be affiliated with or interact with employees of a hospital or nursing home. The regulation allows for limited exemptions with reasonable accommodations, consistent with applicable law.

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*

  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.

  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*

  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.

  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).


Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.



  • The hiring department will be responsible for any fee incurred for examination.
