Medical Coding and Billing Specialist

CareX LLC, a locally owned, and community focused healthcare organization is looking for an experienced Medical Coding and Billing Specialist to join our growing team!

Our company currently has two family practices, two urgent cares, and a pain management clinic. This position will support the teams at each location, with a home base office.

Responsibilities:

• Extracting relevant information from patient records.
• Liaising with practitioners and other parties to clarify information.
• Examining documents and records for missing information.
• Assigning CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes.
• Performing chart audits.
• Advising and training practitioners on medical coding.
• Ensuring compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of work experience as a medical coder.
• American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) certification: preferred.
• American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) certification: preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
