The Role at a Glance:

We are thrilled to bring on an Application Development Analyst for a remote position.

This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong AWS skills, problem solving skills, attention to details, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. In this position you will consult/analyze and deliver on more complex Cloud engineering assignments/projects for assigned area(s) of application development responsibility. In this role you will act as a resource and develop more complex innovative business solutions by creating new applications, modifying existing applications and providing post production support. You will also deliver more complex business application software solutions following the system development life cycle process.

What you'll be doing:
  • Own and manage the full lifecycle of application development; from designing, writing, testing, building, deploying, to monitoring
  • Using tools such as GitLab (Issues, GitLab CI/CD Pipelines) to maintain source code, drive operations, collaboration, and code reviews to ensure the development of high-performance, scalable, and resilient software components
  • Design, implement, and deploy microservices using AWS serverless: AWS Lambda (Python, Node.Js, Spring boot), Step-Function, SNS/ SQS, S3, IAM, CloudFormation, Serverless Application Model (SAM), DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway, CloudWatch)
  • Develop dynamic front-end web applications and the backend APIs that power them (React, Redux, NodeJS, and/or Angular)
  • Create backend systems that scale by leveraging NoSQL databases (DynamoDB)
  • Independently writing SQL queries
  • Leveraging enterprise Dev-Ops tools and creating pipelines
  • Raise the bar on quality, security, performance, scalability, usability, and operations
  • Stay abreast of developments and trends in Cloud architectures, web dev and programming languages
  • Support the organization mission transforming legacy applications to AWS cloud
  • Establish relationships across development teams to programmatically integrate services with other teams' APIs
  • Making a positive contribution as demonstrated by making suggestions for improvement and continuing to learn new skills, procedures, and processes
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure that systems are designed, developed and implemented from a business point of view
  • Serving as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects
What we're looking for:

Must-haves:
  • 3 - 5+ Year's experience in application development that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities listed above for this position
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering
  • Intermediate in experience in containerization (Docker)
  • Intermediate in creating CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
Nice-to-haves:
  • AWS Certified on Developer track
  • Strong project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrates ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment; Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues, and peers; can influence outcomes without directing or commanding.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
