Cost Accountant

We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our team! The Cost accountant will help our business by overseeing and analyzing cost expenditures and purchases within the organization. They review services and goods, record data, and make recommendations about cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options. They will also monitor general ledger activity to ensure entries are posted to the correct accounts. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

· Assist in developing and maintain ERP based cost accounting system

· Process production cost entries in ERP system to support and accumulate cost accounting data

· Analyze costs and recommend cost savings.

· Drive the cost accounting monthly close process of product line sales and product line cost (GM$/GM%)

· Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.

· Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing estimate costs to actual production costs.

· Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services

· Analyze and report on inventory levels, transactions and turns

· Provide support for physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program

· Participate in accounting month end close process, including preparing and posting journal entries

· Assist in creating estimated costs of new/proposed products

· Maintain fixed asset schedule

· Perform analysis and inquiries of financial data as requested

· Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Have 1-2 years of accounting experience.

· Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and comfortable working independently

· Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including strong spelling, grammar, and punctuation

· Must be committed to providing outstanding customer service and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills

· Strong attention to detail

· Proficient computer skills and ability to operate general office equipment

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (schedule subject to change slightly depending on business needs)
• Must be able to work overtime as needed
