Accounting Manager

Position Summary:

The Accountant Manager is responsible for the daily, monthly and annual accounting activities. Position works closely with the VP Finance to support financial reporting for the company. This position also provides administrative support, order office and business supplies for the Overland Park office and serves as designated backup for payroll activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting
• Three to five years of general financial accounting experience required
• Knowledge of telecom industry is a plus
• Ability to work in a professional business setting
• Detail oriented with the ability to identify and resolve problems quickly by gathering and analyzing information
• Professional and organized with the ability to prioritize tasks, work efficiently, and handle multiple work assignments
• Highly ethical and dependable
• Excellent time management skills
• Skilled communicator using both verbal and written communications
• Experience using Microsoft Office programs
• Highly proficient with accounting software. Experience using MACC is a plus
• Team player
• Resides a reasonable commute to Overland Park, KS

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:

• Performs general financial accounting duties
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements and other financial reports.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Reconciles customer accounts, manages accounts receivable collections and fees
• Maintain vendor files, collect appropriate documentation, enter invoices into accounting system and ensuring accurate and timely payment
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Files required tax forms and regulatory reports with federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Order and track company credit cards and vehicle tags.
• Make recommendations for cost and expense improvements
• Support other departments with cost/expense queries as needed
• Become resident expert in applicable industry regulatory requirements
• Serve as backup for payroll
