Job Description

 

This is a Senior Engineering role with the DHTS Innovation and Automation Team.  The Innovation and Automation team is primarily responsible for the research, development, and delivery of emerging technologies via the DHTS Innovation Hub, in addition to the responsibility of enabling our organization to leverage IT and business automation practices.

 

The DHTS Innovation Hub is a safe environment to explore new ideas and technologies within a framework that facilitates the transition of projects from incubation into potentially full adoption.  The Innovation Hub will also foster collaboration with industry partners and peers opening a wider range of possibilities by listening to other transformational leaders in the space, sharing our experiences with others, and collaborating on projects for mutual benefit.


Essential tasks/responsibilities:

 

  • Work with the Innovation and Automation team to help introduce next-generation technologies to improve patient care
  • Assist the Innovation and Automation team with researching use cases and best practices for implementing new and emerging technologies
  • Work with our architecture and engineering teams to identify critical technologies that enable our vision and pioneer the delivery approaches to make them successful
  • Support the development and delivery of complex pilot projects around disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotic process automation (RPA), and IT Automation
  • Assist in managing the technical debt generated from our legacy systems and services to provide bandwidth and space for more innovation projects


 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or MS in Software Engineering, or 5 years of relevant work experience. 

 

Experience:

 

  • 5-7 years in software development or in a technology role with coding experience

 

Required Skills:

 

  • Strong collaboration experience with architects, engineers, and senior leadership to iteratively create designs, identify areas of risk, and quickly develop prototypes
  • Experience working full stack across front end, back end, data tier, and infrastructure solutions
  • Experience designing and implementing flexible, reusable, scalable, computationally efficient, and easily maintainable programming code for use across multiple projects
  • Curiosity about innovation and implementing cutting-edge technologies
  • Outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, and self-organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Desired Skills:

  • API Development
