Responsible for supervising and developing Coding+ employees and providing management coverage of the team. Maintaining accurate employee and client records, general work assignment supervision and delegation of duties.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, and finances client specific data when performing coding work.

  • Supervise activities of the Coding staff as well as perform coding, abstracting, and reporting in compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Audits, trains and supervises coding staff for the purpose of maximizing reimbursement, ensuring quality coding and maintaining acceptable turnaround time in the completing of unit function.

  • Perform and maintain periodic quality audits
  • Track and communicate coder productivity metrics to coding staff, management, and clients.

  • Responds to requests from hospital departments, physicians, etc. that ensures customer service in a timely manner.

  • Act as a coding resource to coding staff and clients.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and concepts effectively across organizational levels as will be working with physicians, C suites and other hospital and physician’s department management.

  • Address coder queries, compliance questions and general guideline inquiries

  • Maintain consistent employee work assignments and client needs projections

  • Assists with interviews, hiring and corrective action for all Coding+ staff.

  • Completes and submits probationary and annual employee performances evaluations.

  • Leads by example, promotes teamwork by fostering a positive, transparent, and focused working environment which achieves maximum results.

  • Manage and grow coding staff to ensure individual, company, and client goals are met.

  • Ensure creation and delivery of accurate and well-written deliverables for all projects

  • Perform quality assurance to confirm compliance with appropriate industry regulations and State and Federal Regulations.

  • Collaborate closely with peers, executive directors, and executive management of RCCS and affiliated companies

  • Conduct and participates in training, creation of documents and materials for clients and the company regarding reimbursement and coding topics.

  • Strive to achieve maximum exposure and strong public image of companies to the healthcare industry.

  • Ensure compliance with RCCS Policies and Procedures to maximize efficiency.

  • Ability to travel as needed

  • Other duties as needed and assigned by leadership, including but not limited to leading and conducting special projects. Develops project work plans, facilitates resource allocation, executes project tasks and obtains assistance from other intra and inter-departmental resources as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:



  • Minimum 5 years business or healthcare experience
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive supervisory experience including payroll, employee time off

  • Must have an active coding credential

  • Experience with electronic health records, health information systems and healthcare applications

  • Proficient in Microsoft office


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Knowledge of organization policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of health care administration principles

  • Knowledge of clinical processes and procedures as they relate to the healthcare marketplace

  • Knowledge of business procedures as they relate to the healthcare marketplace

  • Knowledge of insurance agency operating procedures and practices

  • Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve business unit objectives.
  • Skill in identifying and resolving problems

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staffing in physician offices, hospitals and business-related organizations

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with all employees and clients

  • Effective management skills

  • Knowledge of financial planning and analysis as it relates to RCCS business

  • Knowledge of CPT-4, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS coding
