Position


Reporting to the Delivery Lead, this role's main objective is the analysis, documentation, and management of projects (both business-strategic and customers)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Architects and development teams, providing contribution for the BA team towards enhancement and design of the solution from a business perspective, ensuring changes and new features are both strategically and customer viable.

  • Liaison with external 3rd parties to manage relationships and ensure that solutions and milestones are understood and mutually agreed, and progress reported.

  • Management and participation in end-to-end deliverables and responsibilities for large internal integrated projects across several business teams.

  • Work closely with the Delivery Lead, contributing to the design, processes, and ongoing improvement of customer product delivery.

  • Mentor the BA team in all aspects of the platform and product delivery ensuring growth and spread of knowledge.

  • Production of detailed business specifications and change requests.

  • Review specifications as part of an internal review process.

  • Obtain project timescales from the development and QA teams.

  • Arrange and chair meetings to gather project requirements both on and off-site.

  • Provide the customer with timescales for contracted work.

  • Managing multiple projects, assigned by the Delivery Lead, within agreed timescales.

  • Closely manage the customer to ensure their part of the development is managed within the timescales.

  • Liaison with other internal departments to ensure that project is delivered to specification and within agreed timescales.

  • Assist with internal system testing of the software to ensure high-quality customer deliveries.

  • Providing support to the customer when they are performing their testing.

  • Carry out additional supplementary work as defined by the Delivery Lead.

  • Provide backup and support to other team members.

  • Continuously and constructively challenge processes and procedures with a view to re-engineer them to find more efficient methods of working.

Requirements


Qualifications:


  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade B or above (essential)

  • Progress towards an insurance qualification (advantageous)


Experience:


  • Recent experience in an analytical or project management role (Essential)

  • Experience in working with IT systems in a Broking/Insurance environment and/or in an e-Commerce environment (Essential)

  • Previous involvement in the design of insurance products and/or web solutions (Advantageous)

  • Track record of managing multiple projects within timescales (Advantageous)

  • Experience within the insurance industry (Advantageous)


Skills:


  • Excellent customer relationship and negotiation skills (Essential)

  • Excellent analysis and design skills (Essential)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Essential)

  • Good time management skills (Essential)

  • Able to produce concise, unambiguous, and functionally complete requirements documentation (Essential)

  • High level of competence in using Microsoft Word (Essential)

  • Confident presentation and meeting skills (Advantageous)

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint (Advantageous)

  • Understanding of HTML and XML (Advantageous)

  • Understanding of the software development process (Advantageous)
