What You'll Be Doing
Wake County Information Services is seeking an experienced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems Engineer to provide technical support for the Wake County ERP applications. This position will provide technical support for all ERP applications including Finance, HRM/Payroll, Budget and self-service applications by understanding the applications and underlying architecture to troubleshoot issues and provide guidance to Wake staff and the ERP vendor towards issue resolution. The ERP Systems Engineer will develop and maintain interfaces between County’s ERP and internal systems or vendors and the integration with our enterprise document management system in collaboration with ERP staff. The ERP Systems Engineer will work with a matrixed team to configure, test, implement and communicate changes to the ERP system to improve processes, incorporate new features and enhancements, and deliver innovative service.
Essential Functions:
Provide systems support for hosted ERP solutions or enterprise applications including knowledge of system architecture and support for overall ERP platform to include working knowledge of application, platform upgrade and feature set testing, etc.
Partner with business owners to understand vendor data integration requirements and design, develop, test and deploy custom interfaces needed to securely fulfill business requirements. This will be accomplished with an EDI transaction mapping tool such as Actian, Pentaho, Sterling Integrator, Connexion, or Gentran and the use of custom logic and mappings to produce files to be processed by our vendors.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Four years of experience in network or database design and administration or systems analysis
Equivalent education and experience are accepted
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Two years’ experience with 3-Tier architecture and .NET or J2EE development
Over three years’ experience as a developer using and writing SQL queries, intermediate
Three years’ experience in technical role developing or supporting a large software application, including troubleshooting issues
Experience with EDI transaction mapping, setup and trading partner implementation. (Actian, Pentaho, Sterling Integrator, Connexion, or Gentran Preferred) (Transactions sets such as 820, 821, 822, 823, 835, 824, 827, 997) (File layouts: NACHA, IDOC, XML, FF)

Demonstrated ability to develop, test and implement interfaces, processes and integration among systems including requirements definition and documentation
Analytical and communication skills Knowledgeable with source code control tool
Knowledgeable and familiar with file transmission protocols and tools to complete transfers (FTP, SFTP, HTTPS, PGP, etc.)
Knowledge of JSON, XML Tags, formatting and coding a plus

Hiring Range: $72,696 - $101,775 - Commensurate with experience
