Program Lead
Job Description:
We are seeking an accomplished Program Leader, a critical role leading business and program outcomes across our development pipeline. The Program Leader will take end-to-end leadership and accountability of our development and/or clinical stage programs and will work in close collaboration with research team leads, cross-functional team members and leadership to develop and execute on plans for a portfolio of programs across various stages of development.
The successful candidate will be a strategic and technical leader, directly responsible for establishing the overarching development vision and value proposition for a given program. The Program Leader will play a key role in translating this vision into plans and leading execution of those plans across the company while identifying and leveraging external expertise as needed. This role will also be a key point of liaison between program execution teams and supporting functions such as Finance, Business Development and the company's Leadership Team. The Program Leader must be entrepreneurial, able to roll up their sleeves and thrive in a fast-paced, highly interdisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Establishing a development vision, strategy and value proposition for each program, including establishing and maintaining TPPs
Leading cross-functional teams to translate this vision into integrated development plans and associated operating plans and budgets that align with overall strategy and corporate goals
Successfully executing on integrated development plans, including health authority engagement, regulatory filings and conducting clinical trials
Establishing program teams to enable execution through leveraging internal and external expertise
Proactively supporting the leadership team in identifying opportunities and removing obstacles to drive business results
Liaising with key supporting functions such as Finance and Business Development to ensure aligned and appropriate management, planning and communications with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements/Qualification:
PhD, MD, MSc, or BSc in a scientific discipline of relevance to drug discovery or development
10+ years of drug development experience; focus on Oncology a plus
Extensive working knowledge of the drug development process + expertise in one or more relevant areas (e.g., clinical, regulatory, program management, and project planning/management) Experience in IND-enabling development and Phase 1 clinical studies
Program leadership experience with track record of delivering successful outcomes in a matrix environment
Experience establishing and leading high performing teams
Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to influence peers and senior leaders across R&D
Proven agility in prioritizing and navigating competing demands
