What you will do

You will have responsibility for IBP across Air Distribution, and implementation and maturing IBP strategy, processes and practices across all business units to enable growth, deliver outstanding customer service, operations efficiency and planning predictability from revenue through cost to profit

Leads collaborative work across multiple PBU’s to strategize, communicate, deliver and supervise continuous improvement plans and performance results for delivery performance, material cost and inventory optimization across all PBU’s in Air Distribution. Builds strategies and implements best practices aligned to Sales and Operations Planning COE, Supply Chain improvement, supplier delivery improvement and escalation. Leads Planning and Fulfillment Managers, Demand Planning efforts, and Sales and Commercial strategic projects for business growth. Works to ensure alignment on business growth strategy and network implications; successfully developing improved practices while maintaining all critical KPIs to plan.

How you will do it:

  • Works with Planning and Fulfillment Managers to develop and implement utilization for specific Material Control processes and systems to drive standardization.

  • Guides and secures accurate staffing, and is accountable for team and individual development of Materials professional across the network.

  • Ensure accurate profit planning / inventory budgeting and performance to the plan.

  • Defines application practices for Material Control standards and guidelines, and provides guidance of Inventory, Delivery and Supplier Delivery to meet KPI goals

  • Develop medium and long term strategy related to integration of practices within Material Control processes with integration for S&OP and IBP practices to support PBU objectives.

  • Develop and oversee activities to support Strategic actions and data analytics to optimize inventory and meet customer service levels. Track and drive action plans to drive implementation for IBP (Integrated Business Planning) processes according to Senior Leadership expectations.

  • The role is responsible for further development of the templates of each step and their connections to the key supporting functional processes such as Product Management, Demand Management, Supply Management, Financial Planning and Business Management. The leader will finalize development and the ongoing integrations of the COE with all supporting functions and the business units. A critical enabler to successful sustainability will be the development and implementation of required training and certifications for all roles associated with the IBP process

  • Benchmark activities to develop material control system to be implemented between PBUs and document those expectations through the JCMS maturity model, standards and auditing/compliance methods.

  • Directs completion of Materials responsibilities in new product launches and introduction of new supply chain entities within PBU.

  • Aligns on the top priorities of the Manufacturing Operations Strategy and functional leaders and with the global functional leader and ensures the corresponding Supply Chain actions are implemented to achieve the PBU Goals.

  • Supports Plant Materials Managers and staff; provides technical leadership input, supports performance review delivery, and development plans.

  • Coordinates best practice sharing and basic standardization pertaining to Materials across the assigned plants and represents the corresponding PBU in the Best Practices Sharing Committees from the Materials standpoint.

  • Leads Materials team in developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal or external customers, driving improved customer service and problem solving in coordination with the corresponding PBU Operations leadership team as well as with the Global Materials and PBU Business Customer Service and Procurement leaders (and the rest of the manufacturing Operations Leadership Team as applicable).

  • Directs Supplier Delivery Improvements and Procurement Escalation activities for assigned plants globally to insure alignment with Customer Delivery expectations, and provide common guidelines for improvement among all plants, and escalation with Supplier Fulfillment and Procurement teams.

  • Approves, along with Ops Leader and Finance, all Inventory Plans for applicable PBU Corrective Actions to ensure appropriate methodology is utilized and inventory is minimized. Supports Inventory Planning process and approves Quarterly Forecast reviews.

  • Takes part in most critical customer audits to assure communication of customer requests and common answer and guidelines for improvements among all plants.

  • Supports application, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Business Operating System (BOS) and interaction with other functional groups to enable implementation for these processes.

  • Drive improvements in IBP activities across multiple PBU’s / financial entities through effective working relationships and communication with other functional areas (Sales, Finance, Product Management, Procurement, Operations, General Manager).

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Business Administration with 10+ years experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or production area including at least seven (7) years of material management experience.

  • Extended ERP/MRP experience.

  • APICS Certification preferred or expected to be obtained from individuals taking this role.

  • Leadership experience. this role has 6 direct reports

  • Knowledge of and experience working with multiple, global manufacturing operations and ability to defining planning processes for a diverse organization and develop changes to supply chain processes with customers and suppliers to achieve business objectives.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and drive change in a manufacturing environment, across all levels in the organization and extending to internal and external partners, is critical.

  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time

Preferred:

  • MBA or Advance Degree

  • Multi site experience
