Python Developer (Information Security Senior) (Hybrid or Remote Work Schedule)

Position Overview:

Do you enjoy solving complex problems and improving processes through automation? We are seeking a Senior level candidate to join Freddie Mac's Vulnerability and Compliance Scanning team!
Our Impact:
The Freddie Mac Vulnerability and Compliance Scanning Team is responsible for continuous monitoring for vulnerabilities and misconfigurations across multiple environments, and technologies. These include local and cloud infrastructure, databases, endpoints, and others.
Your Impact:
In this role, the candidate will deploy and administer various solutions through automations to ensuring completeness and accuracy of scan coverage as well as increasing the efficiency with our many processes around vulnerability management.
Develop Team Capabilities
Generate innovative ideas and challenge the status quo
Develop scripts, automations, tools, or methodologies to enhance the team's processes and capabilities, and reduce toil
Create/update runbooks and SOP documentation
Participate in and actively support mentoring with other members of the team, and mentoring less expe‐ rienced staff
Baseline Security Configurations
Develop custom audit scripts for automated monitoring of approved Baseline Security Configurations (BSC) for servers, workstations, network devices, databases, etc
Work with platform SMEs to ensure accuracy and completeness for the BSC scans
Design monitoring solutions for new and existing technologies to determine compliancy with published standards.
Tune scan policies for accuracy and speed
Qualifications:
5 years of strong Python programming experience
Experience in authoring and developing Python libraries
Experience using modules like pandas etc etc
Experience using varying types of API calls to query and update data across multiple third-party applications
Intermediate to advanced level BASH
Experience with Git, CI/CD and other development tools
Degree in a STEM related discipline and/or a minimum 5 years of IT/cybersecurity experience
Nice to have:
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and networking in AWS and/or Azure

The anticipated annualized base salary range for this position is $98,000 to $146,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program.
