Where You’ll Work
Help to make an impact with your data analysis skills! This Internship will be working with the Pharmacy Operations department where you will be assisting with maintaining and analyzing provider and network data, develop automation processes and tools for retail compliance, and in solving complex issues with cross-functional business partners to assist in ongoing workflow enhancements. Y ou will have exposure to large data analyses and will have the opportunity to learn the functional use of tools like SQL, R, and Python . Outside of your day-to-day work, you will have the opportunity take part in personal and professional development activities, including an executive speaker series that opens up a dialogue between you and company leaders, community service events, and networking opportunities with employees and other summer interns.
What You’ll Do
Use your analytical skills to help identify improvement opportunities and develop automation tools to increase efficiency
Collaborate in designing and implementing various algorithms and processes
Perform reporting tasks such as maintaining the provider and network information
Perform data analysis using tools such as Excel, R, SQL, or Python
Work on assigned project(s) and learn from the original concept stages through implementation
Complete weekly reports and other data verification tasks as assigned
Previous project examples:
Cleanse and identify data discrepancy between multiple databases using R, SQL and Excel
Identify target fraud, waste and abuse in the pharmacy network
Perform claim analysis to identify certain types of pharmacies
Qualifications
Strong preference for an undergraduate rising senior or advanced degree program with a 3.0 GPA or above preferred; preferred majors include Computer Science, Data Analysis, IT, or other related field
Intermediate MS Excel and SQL knowledge
Foundational knowledge in programming languages (R/Python) is a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task with several projects
Must have previous data analysis experience (projects, coursework, internships, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong business aptitude and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Being a self-starter who is eager to learn and acquire new skills
Additional Information
Location : Although this role can support work from home from any US location, geographical preference will be given to applicants located near St. Louis, MO.
Schedule: You must be available to work 40 hours/week for 10-12 weeks beginning May 22, 2023. Working hours are Monday – Friday
Compensation: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate between $26.00 and $36.00 an hour depending on relevant factors, including major and year of study.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
