Role Overview
This role will be responsible for managing the implementation and execution of digital technology in support of GBU digital initiatives in the domain of Digital Operations (Manufacturing & Supply chain). The Industrial Digital Manager will work closely with both GBU and Digital Technology teams to manage projects and provide support for moving the GBU toward the Solvay digital roadmap. General areas within the scope of this position are:
  • Strategic role
    • Active involvement with Product Managers from Digital Technology organization to develop Novecare s Industrial Digital Roadmap. Identify opportunities and product owner(s) and put in place conditions for success (including coordination role cross sites)
    • Screen site demand and opportunities, prioritize and channel to appropriate Product groups
  • Change role
    • Organize and animate the network of site digital champions
    • Role model and coach teams involved in digital initiative
  • Day-to-Day
    • Escalate bottlenecks / issues
    • Coordination of cybersecurity issues and projects
Specific Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage and collaborate on group Digital Technology initiatives and projects affecting the GBU. Focus on tactical implementation and execution of projects and initiatives.
  • Assess and manage cybersecurity risks for equipment and applications. Provide a roadmap and support to mitigate risks.
  • Liaise with manufacturing sites and respective site digital champions to drive performance management, focusing on needs and opportunities.
  • Maintain alignment between Novecare and Digital Technology Organization for applications and infrastructure standardization.
  • Manage Digital Star Factory program for the GBU in collaboration with Digital Technology dept and GBU industrial teams
  • Participate in the Steerco for Digital Technology industrial projects as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with Digital Technology Product Managers
  • Provide reporting on projects and the roadmap to Novecare Leadership Team.
  • Work with Site Digital champions and Digital Technology Site Delivery Specialists (DSDS) on Digital Technology related topics.
  • Collaborate on GBU Digital Technology budget as deemed appropriate by the Digital Technology organization.
Education and Experience
Education
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Information Systems Management, Business Management or related Commercial or Technical field.
  • Advanced Degree is a bonus.

Experience
  • Min 10 years of experience in the Information knowledge or industrial domain.
  • Experience in large and multi-disciplinary project management.
  • Experience in working in a multicultural environment.
Skills
  • Knowledge of Solvay Digital Technology landscape.
  • Curiosity for Technology and Digital solutions.
  • Knowledge aspects of quality standards (ISO, GMP, automotive, etc.), complaint handling and ability to apply these.
  • Knowledge of administrative aspects of logistics: insurance, hazardous materials transportation, regulations, Incoterms etc.
  • The ability to manage and influence people.
  • Knowledge in change management.
  • Team player/Collaborative.
  • Customer obsessed.
  • Analytical and problem solving mind-set.
  • Initiative spirit and capacity to work autonomously.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Travel to plant sites up to 25% (Based on Covid restrictions)
