This position offers a hybrid work schedule of in-office and remote work. The Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center (NMCPHC) is the Navy and Marine Corps center for public health (PH) services to maximize readiness through force health protection (FHP) strategies and solutions for current and potential PH threats. NMCPHC provides leadership and expertise to ensure mission readiness in support of the National Military Strategy. NMCPHC s core scientific and technical capabilities and product lines are to conduct Health Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Analysis; Disease and Injury Prevention; and PH Consultation and Support for the benefit of active duty service members, retirees, and their families. This is carried out at the NMCPHC and its supported Medical/Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs), shore-based installations, and its Operational Medical Assets and field activities. Job Title: Programmer / Software Engineer Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Responsible for data collection dealing directly with the end user/customer. Collecting new requirements for development to meet customer s needs. Monitor and assist in carrying out server maintenance functions. Assist, select and apply the most effective delivery formats. Work with IT to ensure that Web based content is accessible to all users. Providing guidance in determining the most appropriate methods for delivering information via the Internet. Basic Qualifications: Appropriate degree and/or certification in computer science/web design with 2 4 years experience in IT environment. Ability to support web related activities and develop web applications and web portals. Experience with Interactive Media, Graphic Illustration, Motion Graphics, Web Design, Print Design HTML, Java Script, C#, Microsoft.net 4.5 or higher, and CSS. Experience with T SQL and SQL Server 2008r2 or higher. Experience with Windows Server 2008r2 or higher. Experience with Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.5 or higher. CompTIA Security+ certification Preferred Qualifications: Expert knowledge of languages and practices needed to develop web pages and to convert user developed content into workable Web pages, create easily navigable Web pages and basic scripts or code, evaluate code and repair errors, and builds or support Web enabled database applications. Ability to create Internet applications that enhance user developed content and meet business and technical requirements and deliver e commerce and e Government products and services to internal and external audiences. Provide Internet services that optimize customer experiences and ensure Internet services comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other related requirements. Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite CS6, Visual Studio 2014, and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or higher. Security Clearance Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance A active and current Secret clearance is strongly preferred. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in stationary position for up to 50% of the time. Must be able to deliver clear and effective communication both verbally and non-verbally to deliver updates; briefings; or interface with co-workers; leadership as well as customer. Must be able to work in an office environment and be able to freely move within this space to utilize office equipment as well as interface with co-workers and customer. Must be able to effectively use IT peripherals such as laptop, desktop, printer, fax machine, etc. Must be able to deliver presentations as needed.
