Our memory development group comprises some of the industry’s leading experts in deep submicron circuit design. This position is a rare opportunity for you as a memory circuit professional to work with our successful circuit and layout team. You will discover a wide variety of groundbreaking foundries while collaborating with our team on many different types of memories.
Job Description:
This job is for a memory designer for developing and validating best in class memories for Arm CPUs, GPUs and SOCs. You get a chance to take part in designing memories on advanced process technology nodes from various foundry offerings.
Responsibilities:
In this role you will be working on the following areas:
- Understanding memory architectures and memory development flows
- Transistor level full-custom design and collaboration with the physical design team for layout realization
- Developing new features, and optimizing and improving Arm memories to meet Performance, Power and Area targets!
- Running memory characterization and analyzing results
- Become comfortable with basic programming tasks (scripts, memory compiler tiling code)
- Ensuring high-quality and high-performance memory designs with the lowest possible power as needed for Arm CPUs, GPUs, and SOCs!
Required Skills and Experience:
- Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other relevant technical fields with emphasis in VLSI design
- Demonstrate project experience in physical IP design (memories, standard cells, IOs, or PHYs)
- An understanding of basic memory principles, especially for SRAM
- A good understanding of technology trade-offs in deep sub-micron technologies
- Experience with Cadence Virtuoso or similar schematic and layout editing tools, and with Spice and FastSpice simulators
- You love working in a collaborative setting
- You enjoy innovation and continuous improvement
- You appreciate methodology and efficiency improvements
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
- Have designed on silicon technologies equal or smaller than 28nm
- Have some exposure to CMOS layout
- Statistical simulations (e.g. Monte-Carlo)
- Familiar with basic coding with Perl, .tcl, java, and UNIX
