The Role:

We are transforming technology and creating a digital evolution that will empower Centene to better serve our members. As Senior Engineer you will be responsible for partnering with the Business stakeholders and Product team in an Agile context to capture the business problem, current state, desired future state, objectives, business needs and impacted user groups. You will also participate and contribute in the entire implementation process for new applications and enhancements to existing applications.

As Senior Software Engineer, you will:

Design, build, test and maintain scalable and stable off the shelf application or custom built technology solutions to meet business needs.

Act as a subject matter expert for Application Software developers and Engineers.

Contribute to the entire implementation process including driving the definition of improvements based on business need and architectural improvements

Meet with business partners to understand business needs

Responsible for overall design of the solution

Design, build and test applications

Conduct root cause analysis and advanced performance tuning for complex business processes and functionality

Familiar with the Agile development lifecycle and can participate in the various Agile ceremonies such as Daily Stand-up, Backlog Grooming (Refinement), Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective.

Ensures change control and change management procedures are followed within the project team as they relate to requirements.

Provide input on the overall solution design.

Build Test applications. (Primary work)

Conduct root cause analysis and implement basic performance tuning.

Responsible for ensuring solution meets business needs.

Production Support activities

Contribute to the entire implementation process including driving the definition of improvements based on business need and architectural improvements

Meet with business partners to understand business needs

Responsible for overall design of the solution

Additionally you will bring:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience.

3+ years of related experience.

Healthcare experience strongly preferred.

Requires demonstrated understanding of business process as it relates to experience in the field of C#, ASP .NET , Java Script, OOP/OOAD, XML, HTML.

Experience with Oracle and SQL Server. Experience with web services, messaging, and stored procedures.
