Apple Retail is looking for an experienced and well-organized Design Associate. This person will assist the Innovation Design Managers on all Initiatives, contributing hands-on technical capabilities, and detailing Merchandising and Fixture designs. Must be a self-starter that can operate in a fast-paced high energy environment.
Key Qualifications
  • 6+ years of Architecture or Industrial Design. Furniture industry experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to work optimally with a wide range of design, construction, and technology specialists.
  • Proven strong team skills and ability to develop meaningful internal and external partnerships.
  • Ability to mange own workflow across multiple simultaneous projects
  • Solid understanding of CAD and presentation tools. Rhino, Solidworks, Keyshot, iWork, Office, etc. knowledge highly desired.
  • Self-motivated and agile learner
Description
Assist in coordination of mockups/prototypes and generating presentations of Initiatives for Creative Review and Design Review. Produce presentation computer models, drawings and visualizations of Innovations in development and assist in record keeping of documents through the lifecycle of the Initiative. - Facilitate design studies by developing options for consideration. - Produce technical drawings and computer models as needed to support detailed development. - Coordinate with consultants and vendors who produce mockups and prototypes, procure samples, and complete shop drawings. - Produce assets used to integrate completed Innovations into the Standards documentation.

Professional degree or equivalent experience
