Job Title: Cardiothoracic Donor Procurement Surgeon
Reports to: Senior Director of Cardiothoracic Surgical Services
All candidates must be a US citizen, and live in or North Carolina

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE:
The candidate will be on call for his/her region and provide thoracic organ surgical assessment, retrieval, and instrumentation on the OCS System. The surgeon will be accompanied by OCS clinical perfusion staff on all cases and will communicate with the TransMedics clinical leadership team and recipient transplant team, as needed. All transportation (flight, ground) and accommodation arrangements while on assignment will be covered by TransMedics.
EXPERIENCE:
- Must have experience as PRIMARY, not just assistant, surgeon for procurement
- Must have direct experience with both HEART and LUNG procurement
- Ideally should have performed at least 50 procurements over the course of career
- Must have performed at least 10-15 procurements over recent (2-4) years

EDUCATION:
MD (or equivalent) degree, with completion of CT surgery residency and Thoracic transplant fellowship”
