Position description
The taxonomy/ontology specialist is responsible for the design and ongoing implementation of the metadata and annotation strategies to support the content and requirements of the assigned business areas. Responsibilities involve designing metadata and annotation strategies in alignment with the strategic direction of the ontology team; developing operational processes and documentation; assigning appropriate metadata to resources; and collaborating with the team in development efforts to meet the evolving metadata needs of the products and services of the supported business areas.
This is a limited tenure position with an anticipated end date of December 2024.
Qualifications
BA or BS in Library Science, Information Science, Knowledge Management, Management Information Systems, or related field and at least two years work experience related to Web development, cataloging, classification, indexing, or content management systems. Or a Master's degree in Library and Information Science or related field, and internship experience in the area described. Detail-oriented with data analysis skills. Applicant is team-oriented with the ability to work independently and has excellent problem-solving skills. Knowledge of health information vocabularies helpful.
