At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Cloud Architect supporting the government health organization, you will be trusted to perform as part of a team to ensure the effective Modernization Support Services of the customer applications that support customer programs, activities, and resources. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Manage and implement Cloud Solutions for COTS, GOTS, Oracle Financial system and related applications.
• Work with a team of DevOps/SecOps Engineers to architect cloud solutions
• Support and advise on application assessment, migration and modernization
• Provide machine-learning capabilities to monitor spikes, drops in usage, as well as lead discussions similar to well architected reviews.
• Provide recommendations to optimize Cloud usage costs by analyzing usage patterns and trends while providing recommendations for consolidating instance types based on demand across all billing accounts.
• Create assessments that include cloud deployment type (public/hybrid), cloud tier (AWS, Oracle, Azure, and Google), OS, COTS, codebase, database, cloud services, application dependencies, disaster resilience requirements.
• Design cloud infrastructure, virtual private cloud, virtual private network, relational database services, auto scaling, and computing resources to meet customers' requirements.
• Maintain an understanding of advancing cloud capabilities, IT and business needs, while identifying and proposing cost and functional efficiency options for the customer's collaborative decisions and actions.
• Create and maintain a roadmap of customer cloud enhancements according to the customer's decisions and directions.
• Deliver end-to-end cloud architecture solutions
• Provide expertise in high availability, contingency planning, and automated provisioning.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and business owners to provide guidance and recommendations on improving IT infrastructure
• A proactive approach to identifying issues and problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks along with an ability to offer and implement solutions to address these.
• Experience working within the federal government or serving federal government clients on Agile-based development contracts

Required Qualifications:

• U. S. Citizen
• Ability to secure a Public Trust clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
• 12+ years of related engineering experience
• Expertise in cloud service delivery models
• Experience managing and leading technical teams in implementing Cloud solutions.
• Strong understanding of Cloud Migration methodologies and best practices.
• Expertise in cloud service delivery models
• In-depth Knowledge of various cloud solutions (hybrid, public, private, multi-cloud, on-prem) and related tools

Desired:

• Oracle Cloud, AWS and Azure experience
• Any of the following certifications: Certified IT Architect (CITA-P), Certified SOA Architect (SOA), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MSCD), Certified Agile Developer (CAD), Certified System Architect (CSA).
