Job Description:
Leidos is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide full life-cycle project management and oversight to technical teams performing flight hardware development in support of NASAs Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC). This role will lead flight hardware projects in support of crew health and human spaceflight on The Orion and Human Landing System (HLS) Programs.
The Flight Hardware Project Manager will drive projects from beginning to end, including: requirements development, hardware design, integration, test, sustainment, product and safety reviews. The PM will oversee a technical team and provide guidance and collaboration with HHPC internal stakeholders, external subcontractors and vendors to ensure project milestones are achieved.
This position is located at The Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.
Must have US Citizenship or Permanent Residency and the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify requirements, conduct verifications, and conceptualize methods of operations to achieve project end-goal
  • Develop cost estimate, budget, statement of work, assess risk, and define schedule for all assigned projects
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, conduct reviews, and perform integration throughout project development process
  • Present findings, reports, and status updates to contractor management and the NASA customer
  • Administer project procurement activities, including: preparation and negotiation of statement of work, change orders, and invoices with subcontractors/vendors
  • Ensure integration across multiple engineering disciplines (systems engineering, project engineering, design and fabrication, and test and integration)
  • Review plans, conduct investigations, and provide recommendations to guarantee compliance with established requirements, guidelines, and procedures
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings for assigned projects with internal HHPC and external customer stakeholders
  • Track, update, and provide recommendations for statement of work or budget changes to the task order manager
  • Identify, communicate, and manage project risks by implementing mitigation strategies
  • Participate in ISO/CMMI/AS9100 Audits

Required Education And Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field and 8+ years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical field with aerospace or mechanical experience to include hardware development and design
  • Experience leading negotiations with vendors and completing procurement
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings
  • Working knowledge of configuration and data management processes
  • Ability to translate technical concepts across multiple disciplines
  • Strong, proactive, and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with MS Project or similar software tool

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Flight Hardware Development processes as outlined in SA-014/EA-023
  • Prior professional experience supporting NASA programs
  • Familiarity with NASA or DoD Work Instructions
  • Experience with NASA systems, such as MIDAS, CDS, QARC, EDMS, ELABEL
  • Human Systems Engineering experience, such as human factors and designing for the product end-user

Pay Range:
Pay Range $84,500.00 - $130,000.00 - $175,500.00
