Job Summary: The Small Business Analyst will assist with the analysis and underwriting of small business loan requests

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with bank staff (primarily Small Business Liaison Officer and Credit Portfolio Manager) to obtain the necessary documentation required to analyze a small business loan request.
• Remain organized and be able to track multiple loan requests in various stages of production.
• Analyze financial data such as balance sheets, income statements, personal financial statements, tax returns, income growth, quality of management, market share, appraisals, entity structures, and overall borrower business plans in order to make   recommendations with regards to credits. Includes analyzing credit information from other sources, lenders, and credit reporting agencies
• Conduct on-going verification and regular tracking of customer’s credit quality through periodic review of collateral values, valuation dates and methodology, credit reports and supplier checks, tracking and analysis of required financial information   and any other approval conditions
• Work with Loan Operations to ensure credit files are well-maintained with current, complete, and accurate information.
• Prepare checklists and maintain authorizations and documentation
• Follow and comply with all regulatory and compliance regulations
• Provide customer service in accordance with Coastal’s Core Values
• May assist Credit Portfolio Manager on projects designed to bring efficiency to the underwriting process, expand bank product offerings, and provide insight on portfolio quality / trends
• May assist Credit Underwriting Manager with analysis of larger or more complex commercial requests, portfolio analysis, and reports
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Proven effective verbal and written communication skills, including writing efficiently
• Ability to work in an ambiguous, fluid environment working on customized loan proposals
• Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy a must
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Proficiency in MS Office / Power Platform

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience with prior banking experience preferred.

Pay: $$32.16 - $44.94 per hour
