Under general supervision of the Manager of Business Operations, FP&A, the Business Operations FP&A Analyst I works directly with the Operations team to provide location specific analysis and feedback on financial performance and profitability. In conjunction with Operations, this analyst will also work alongside Safety, Linehaul, Claims Prevention, and various other business units. This role plays a crucial part in the collaboration of Finance and Operations by identifying and investigating opportunities for improvement and reporting on cost efficient decisions that are made across the network. Ideal candidates are career driven, detail oriented, are excited about creating business relationships and making an impact on location-based profitability.


Responsibilities

- Perform monthly financial analysis on our operations in an effort to optimize profitability

- Use performance metrics to analyze data and identify areas of improvement

- Work closely with finance and operations leadership to review analysis findings

- Become well versed with a subset of terminals, the overarching network structure and understand the nuances of each location within your portfolio

- Assist workflow enhancement between operations and finance

- Collaborate with Sales and Pricing to improve cost efficiency and drive revenue

- Performs other duties as required


Preferred Qualifications


- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area

- 0 to 2 years of experience in a similar financial position

- Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables

- Proficient in Microsoft including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint

- Strong verbal/written communication skills. Comfortable communicating and collaborating across many levels within different business units

- Thoughtful forward-thinker with desire to improve status-quo

- Highly interpersonal with the desire to build relationships throughout the organization

- Detail oriented with a focus on ensuring accuracy of critical information

- Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage time

Power BI experience preferred
