Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide full time in-house Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV), Statewide Arterial Management Program (STAMP), and Managed Lanes (ML) Program support to the Florida Department of Transportation Central Office
  • Manage project initiatives and tasks related to Smart Cities, Artificial Intelligence, Smart Signal Systems, and Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure
  • Assist with the development of policies with the goal to develop and communicate a framework for planning, designing, and deploying CAV in Florida
  • Assist with identifying funding opportunities for implementation, operations, and maintenance
  • Develop grant applications for discretionary funding opportunities
  • Identify and develop technical requirements and specifications to create a framework for CAV infrastructure preparedness including software and hardware upgrades and new installations.
  • Develop and review RFIs for CAV projects
  • Perform other related duties as necessary

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering, or relevant field; Master's preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized. Highly responsive to requests from clients.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture


Preferred

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in traffic, ITS, connected vehicles, and/or traffic engineering
  • Familiarity with national standards related to CAV such as USDOT RSU, SAE, IEEE, NTCIP, ARC-IT, etc.
  • EIT or PE license
  • Preference is given to local candidates
