Your Impact: When it comes to environmental consulting, we re focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We re looking for an emerging Engineer to work on complex site characterization and remediation projects for government and private-sector clients. Based in the West, you ll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects across the region and nationwide. You ll participate in a variety of office and field tasks related to planning, evaluating, and implementing environmental investigation and remediation projects. You ll apply your technical experience in the design and operation of environmental remedial systems with the support of our global remedial technology team. Your analytical and writing skills will be called upon as you evaluate site characterization data, assess remedial alternatives, and prepare work plans, reports, and design documents. You ll learn from other experienced staff who are ready to mentor you, and you ll pass your knowledge on to others. You ll be juggling multiple tasks, so we ll rely on you to prioritize effectively, keeping the big-picture in mind. You may spend up to 50% of your time in the field supporting or overseeing site characterization and remediation work. Here s What You ll Need: Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering or other closely related engineering field Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license 5+ years Professional on-the-job experience related to planning, design, construction, and operation of environmental remedial systems Knowledge and experience with various media (e.g., soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water and sediment) investigations, data assessments/evaluations, and remediation technologies 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification Ideally, You ll Also Have: Master s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering or other closely related engineering field Knowledge of and experience with applying state and federal environmental regulations, including the EPA Superfund program Professional on-the-job experience related to performing and leading environmental field work for site characterization and remediation projects, and an understanding of methodology and procedures Experience working on active project sites and overseeing subcontractors Strong attention to detail when conducting field work and evaluating data Ability to communicate concisely and proactively with coworkers, contractors, and clients Location near Portland, Seattle, or California Additional information: Estimated travel requirement is approximately 50%, generally related to fieldwork.
