Responsibilities
In the face of a triple transformation the Clean Energy Transition, Digitalization, and Business Model Transformationour Energy Provider customers are charged with digitally instrumenting and automating their core business operations to adapt to the dynamics of the 21st energy marketplace, adapting technologies to enable new business models and re-imagining how they engage customers the digital-first age.
Charged with growing digital innovation opportunities within key accounts within our Energy Provider clientele, this role of Utility Digital Innovation Lead requires a self-motivated, driven professional with strong sales and business acumen, a proven track record of success in complex solution selling, a keen understanding of Utilities & Energy business operations and passion for execution excellence.
We are seeking a seasoned leader to drive growth and customer satisfaction in Guidehouses Energy Providers Practice through crafting, selling, and at times overseeing delivery of digital transformation opportunities supporting our customers strategies to digitize and automate key business functions within their Customer, Worker, and Grid Operations domains.
Primary Responsibilities of the Utility Digital Innovation Lead are :
Developing / expanding long-term client relationships that will lead to repeat business, meeting and exceeding digital transformation sales targets
Working in concert with Account Leaders and other pursuit team members on key accounts to develop, pursue, and close new digital innovation engagements
Actively contributing to key account strategy development
Building deep trusted advisor relationships with key utility client stakeholders within business units and IT
Collaborating with senior consulting professionals in our solutions teams across Guidehouse to incorporate a broader range of Guidehouse offerings into digital innovation opportunities within our Energy Provider clients
Building and maintaining a robust pipeline of digital innovation opportunities
Leading key pursuits from inception to closure
Leading / supporting development of key digital innovation proposals
Leading continued development of overall digital innovation Go-To-Market plan for Energy Providers
Providing thought leadership within our practice and to our Energy Provider clients on the application of digitalization in their core operations, customer engagement, and emerging business models
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in business or relevant discipline
10+ years' experience professional working experience excluding internships, co-ops, fellowships, graduate research and post doctoral work.
Executive level energy business experience with a deep background and understanding of the utility industry, including market structure, asset management, regulation, and clean energy trends
Deep understanding of key IT systems within utilities
Familiarity with key OT systems within utilities
Track record uniting IT and Business Unit leader support behind key digitalization initiatives
Strong understanding of key IT technology trends relating to Data Analytics, Cloud, Digitalization, IoT, RPA, and AI and their application within utilities
Experience developing multi-year enterprise IT and OT roadmaps with supporting funding strategies
Experience designing and instantiating large-scale IT programs within utilities
Experience successfully applying agile delivery methodologies to IT / OT initiatives
Preference for prior digital innovation and technology advisory consulting experience
Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
High degree of self-confidence and determination
Highly developed organizational and management skills
Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness
Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of an organization
Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and slide presentation software
Ability to travel as needed
Ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments
Ability to work individually, as part of a team, or leading a team
Reviewing and at times preparing and delivering reports, presentations and other documents for client deliverables
Due to nature of contracts, US Citizenship restriction apply
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or relevant advanced degree
Additional Requirements
The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.
The salary range for this role is $147,200 USD to $245,760 USD, may vary based on undergraduate / graduate degree, directly relevant work experience and location.
