Lead Software Engineer - Back End (Remote Eligible)

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer who is passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.
Our engineering team is making significant investments towards building out the infrastructure and data processing pipelines required to stitch data from across the enterprise and derive purpose built data products which need to be served up with sub second response times. The Low Latency Data Stores (LLDS) application connects to Capital One's enterprise data publishing platform one stream to ingest billions of messages per day and appropriately stores it in dynamically provisioned DynamoDB tables.
What You'll Do:
Lead a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices to create solutions that help meet Real Time intelligence needs for the company
Collaborate with product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
Drive technology roadmap of components owned by the team, specifically related to non-functional requirements needed to handle the scale, resilience and security of well-managed services
Perform technical design and code reviews, share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities
Utilize programming languages like Scala, Python, Java,NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)
At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java or Scala
2+ years of experience developing in AWS architecture
2+ years of experience with Kafka or similar platforms/services
2+ years of experience with NoSQL databases, preferably DynamoDB
2+ years of experience of dealing with high throughput data applications
2+ years of experience in Agile practices
1+ years of experience using CICD tools

The minimum and maximum Full time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Location is New York City- $190,950 and $225,278 for Lead Software EngineerLocation is Colorado- $161,847 and $190,943 for Lead Software EngineerCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
