- Position Type: Administration/ Director Activities Director - Interim 2021-2022 School Year Under the direction of the Superintendent and High School Principal, the Activities Director is responsible for managing, planning and supervising co-curricular and extra-curricular programs for grades 5-12. Duties include organizing and supervising district extra-curricular activities practices, contests and tournaments; establishing the activities calendar; directing, supervising and overseeing all coaches and activity coordinators (e.g. advisors and directors); preparing, recommending and monitoring the activities budget(s); providing direction and support for fundraising opportunities and dealing with public relations aspects of the activities program. Essential Functions: - Supervises, evaluates and coordinates the activities staff including the Associate Activities Director, coaches, advisors, secretaries and contest personnel. - Organizes and supervises all activities, practices and tournaments for activities in grades 9-12. - Attends and participates in a variety of community meetings, regional and state conferences and/or committees to promote the District’s activities program. Stay informed of developments and trends impacting activities programs and plans. Represents Sartell-St. Stephen School District at Central Lakes Conference Activities & Governance Board meetings. Serves as a District representative to the MSHSL at regional and state meetings. - Directs the Associate Activities Director in all Middle School activity programming. - Prepares, submits, recommends and defends the proposed activities budget. Monitors and authorizes purchases for equipment, supplies, official fees and coaches and activities advisors purchasing requests. Evaluates activities programs and collaborates and works with administration in dealing with fiscal matters involving the addition, deletion and/or elimination of activity programs. - Attends and serves in an advisory capacity to all activity support organizations to promote and enhance activity programs in the District. - Creates and facilitates Parent Advisory Groups that enhances parent communication across all District activities. - Advises the Superintendent, Board members and District administrators concerning matters pertaining to activities as part of the administrative team. - Assists in maintaining orderly activities within the building before, during and after school hours. - Performs other duties of a comparable level/type, as required. Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years coaching and/or supervisory experience - Strong interpersonal communication skills - Previous experience working with planning and budgeting Preferred Qualifications: - Masters/Specialist degree in educational administration, plus appropriate administrative licensure in the state of Minnesota - Coaching license Application Materials Required for Consideration: 1.
