Kelly Engineering has an opportunity for you in the Garland area.
Our client is looking for a strong Electrical Design Engineer with a background in bringing new products to market.
Responsible for board-level Electrical Engineering design and team leadership for the development of new products in the Power (DC-DC, LDO, Solid-State Relay, etc.) space.
The Electrical Design Engineer SMTS supports the external customer with product expertise and the internal team with resolution of technical and quality issues that may arise.
Works with New Business Development in the area of prototypes, samples, product documentation and cost projections as needed to quote and secure new business.
Job Responsibility Specifics The essential functions and key responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
* Strong focus on Power electronic design, Development, design and support Power products throughout their lifecycle
* Sufficient capability to participate in the development and design over a broad range of technologies including power, opto, digital and analog
* Engage in external standards activities and personnel recruitment, as needed, to forward product dominance
* Provide technical support and assist in resolution of customer or manufacturing problems as required
* Comprehensive understanding of product design and cost tradeoffs
* Comprehensive knowledge of BOM structure and change control process. Review and approve Engineering Change Orders (ECO) applicable to product line
* Cadence Orcad, PSpice CAD and/or other modeling software proficiency required – AutoCAD or SolidWorks would be a plus
* Ability to travel “as required” to customer site(s) to provide technical support and training
Job Requirements:
* BS degree in electrical engineering or related discipline, MS degree is a plus
* 6+ years working experience in Product Design or Applications position with a strong focus on Power Systems
* Leads Power Systems Design team on new and existing products, subassemblies and next level assemblies
