Job Description Summary

Manages, develops, leads and executes an engagement plan for
undergraduate and graduate students to build a lifelong positive
relationship with the university. In partnership with the Director
oversees all affinity engagement including the development of
affinity-based guidelines and support available through the Office
of Alumni and Family Engagement. Acts as the main liaison between
alumni and the Athletics department supporting their alumni
initiatives and incorporating athletic affinity into our existing
offerings. Assists the Associate Director in planning and assessing
Flagship Events like Falcon Weekend (Homecoming and Parent's
Weekend combined) and Reunion. Works on special projects that
further the mission of Bentley Alumni Engagement and Advancement.
Provides operational assistance and reviews and enhances processes
and programs in support of this work.



Essential Duties


  • Undergraduate Engagement- Develop a comprehensive plan to build
    and grow engagement among the undergraduate student community.
    Identify and implement ways to infuse the alumni experience,
    resources and networks in the student experience throughout all 4
    years. Work closely with Annual Giving on their philanthropy
    efforts with this population. Acts as the main liaison from OAFE to
    Student Affairs to keep and open dialogue and identify areas for
    collaboration.

  • Graduate Engagement - Engage the Graduate Student Association
    to find collaborative and streamlined ways to support their Bentley
    journey through alumni resources and connections. Create
    streamlined guidelines on how graduate student groups can engage
    with OAFE and alumni.

  • Athletics - Build relationships with Athletics Staff and
    Coaches to establish successful collaborations and procedures
    between our office and theirs. Explore ways to introduce thoughtful
    programming which incorporates alumni athletes into a resource for
    student athletes.

  • Affinity Engagement - In partnership with the Director
    establish criteria for the differences between affinity-based
    programming and affinity groups and articulate across campus.
    Identify areas, industries, and topics that appeal to different
    affinity-based segments and hold events throughout the year.

  • Flagship Event (support) - Alongside the Associate Director,
    ensure the success of Falcon Weekend through careful planning and
    execution paying special attention to the Athletic and Student
    components of the weekend. Assist with all logistics, contracts,
    and onsite coordination for both Falcon Weekend and Reunion
    programming. In charge of monitoring and measuring the success of
    Falcon Weekend and Reunion with metrics and benchmarking.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.




Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2 - 4 years related experience with prior experience in
    Advancement, preferably at the college or university level.

  • Must be customer service oriented and have exceptional
    attention to detail.

  • Analytical aptitude and facility with computer systems and
    databases.

  • Solid writing ability and organization skills.

  • Ability to complete projects on time and on budget, and report
    on status and progress.

  • Ability and willingness to travel and work outside of regular
    business hours when necessary.

  • Experience working with and managing volunteers.

  • Must hold and maintain a valid, unrestricted United States
    driver's license, with an insurable driving history as determined
    by Bentley's insurance carrier.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.






Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in Alumni Relations/Higher Education or in the
    not-for-profit world with significant work with high level
    volunteers and experience producing and managing programming
    content and collaterals.

  • Demonstrated technical literacy with Anthology and ability
    learning, mastering, and communicating about system functionalities
    with volunteers and improving processes for training and
    support.

  • Experience managing programs independently, making process
    improvements, and reimagining volunteer training programs and
    opportunities.

  • Ability to produce and manage events, including exhibiting
    poise and leadership under stress and fast paced environment with
    fluid and changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and proactively
    seek guidance and input from multiple project managers to meet
    deadlines.

  • Collaborative and collegial approach to working with teams;
    ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural
    awareness through actions, interactions and communications with
    others.

Work Environment


  • Ability to travel within and outside of campus for work related
    meetings and events.

  • Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer
    work.
