Responsibilities
The Healthcare Finance (HCF) department exists to monitor and improve the financial performance of Kelsey-Seybold's (KS) product lines and health plans.
The HCF Risk Adjustment Coding and Quality Assurance team is a highly-skilled team of certified coders providing chart review services and consultation to the KS Executive team as well as to physicians and physician leadership through the Risk Adjustment Coding program which is designed to impact revenue through compliant, accurate and complete diagnosis coding and medical documentation.
The HCC Coding Consultant will plan, conduct and coordinate all aspects of operational training related to HCC Coding / Documentation and Medicare Risk Adjustment.
The consultant will routinely consult with medical providers to clarify missing or inadequate information and to determine appropriate diagnostic coding.
This position will serve as a subject matter expert and training resource related to Medicare Risk Adjustment.

Salary Range : $63,515.20-$83,363.70
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A basics; B preferred)
Education
Associates degree or 2 years of equivalent experience.
Bachelor’s degree in health-related field
Experience
3 - 6+ years in coding, auditing, or medical billing or related field with 3+ years in HCC Coding
2+ years educating physicians and / or coders
2 years KSC coding experience including consultative role with clinic physicians
Licenses
CPMA (Certified Professional Medical Auditor, CDEO (Certified Documentation Expert Outpatient), RN, RHIA or, RHIT
Special Skills
Ability to develop long-term relationships and foster trust and cooperation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management skills
Attention to detail
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience with EPIC EMR
Experience in multi-specialty setting
Other
Ability to travel regionally up to 50%
