VCU School of Nursing is seeking applicants to apply for the Scientific Writer/Research Associate position. The Scientific Writer/Research Associate is responsible for providing scientific writing, editing and programmatic data support to the School of Nursing Investigators through the Offices of Research and Practice and Community Engagement.

Summary
VCU School of Nursing is seeking applicants to apply for the Scientific Writer/Research Associate position. The Scientific Writer/Research Associate is responsible for providing scientific writing, editing and programmatic data support to the School of Nursing Investigators through the Offices of Research and Practice and Community Engagement.
Typical Duties
Scientific Writing and Editing Duties:
- Assists with preparing research funding applications, including supplementary materials and editing of main documents
- Assist with preparing study reports
- Assists with manuscript preparation, editing and submissions
- Prepares study reports
Scholarship Activities
- Assists with basic data analyses for scientific reports
- Prepares IRB submissions
- Assists with data collection and data management, ability to set-up data management systems, including REDCap
- Provide programmatic support for scholarship to Office of Research, Scholarship and Innovation and the Office of Practice and Community Engagement
Other duties
- Participates as a member of the Richmond Health and Wellness Program team.
- Performs other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, supporting other programs related to the Office of Research and Innovation and Practice and Community Engagement, and completing and maintaining required training related to VCU grant activities.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a science or health profession
- At least one-year experience with data management and collection; and working with community-based settings
- Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting data
- Demonstrated experience and competency with technical, scientific or medical writing
- Experience with SPSS and/or SAS and REDCap
- Excellent judgment and discretion regarding confidential information
- Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects
- Highly proficient in Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD Preferred
- Experience in grant writing
- Experience working with interprofessional teams
