How You’ll Make an Impact

In this position, you will work as part of a team of scientists to support advanced R&D projects by conducting various thermal, electrical and tribology tests and data analysis and report, as well as maintaining test instruments. In the role, you would be responsible for:

  • Planning and setting up lab experiments, collecting or preparing samples and runring tests
  • Maintaining equipment by following operating instructions, performing routine maintenance and calibration, working with equipment supplier on troubleshooting and repair
  • Analyzing and documenting test results to lab management system
  • Writing test reports and summaries using MS Office to support R&D projects
  • Following lab safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion

What You’ll Need

  • BS/BE Degree in Chemistry, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred

  • Working experience in mechanical or chemical lab testing and instrument maintenance is desirable

  • Strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and its data analysis and reporting tools 

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds 

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
