To support this growth and our mission towards value-based care we are seeking for a

Director of Value Based Care and Innovation Science to join our growing team.

The Director of Value Based Care and Innovation Science will be responsible for creating interventions that demonstrate improved outcomes and impact the value-based care equation which are critical to our success.   Dissemination and Implementation Science, which is a field of research that seeks to inform how evidence-based interventions can be successfully adopted, implemented, and maintained in health care delivery, will play a central role in this position. The presence of gaps between knowledge and practice is well documented, and the candidate is expected to be well versed in the range of strategies available to overcome these gaps.

In this role, the candidate will work with the Value Based Care (VBC) team to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of its projects throughout the enterprise. They are responsible for coordinating with data analytics, clinicians, and educational subject-matter experts to develop strategies to optimally research, disseminate and implement state-of-the-art science recommendations, and other valid clinical practices for value based pediatric care across the enterprise.

The candidate will plan and participate in the identification, collection, analysis and presentation of key dissemination and implementation findings. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategic implementation plans.   They will present recommendations to the Value Based leadership on how to improve the research, dissemination and implementation of clinical best practices and value.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Leads the implementation, dissemination, and ongoing evaluation of programs to support platforms and regions to improve patient outcomes and contract performance along the VBC spectrum.  
  2. Leads, in partnership with the Director of VBC programming, a team that is responsible in developing interventions to ensure key projects are effective, replicable, and scalable; including key areas related to patient care & quality, clinician effectiveness, optimizing utilization of services, network performance, clinician productivity, and population health.  
  3. Establishes and delivers on goals related to patient outcomes, program participation, provider satisfaction and productivity, medical expense, care, and quality. The key mission of this role is to gain insights, explore innovation and expand strategies to meet the company’s mission to drive value. 
  4. Fosters partnerships and relationships with specialty providers, health systems, and services that improve patient access and contract performance.
  5. Works in a team-based environment with clinician leadership, data analytics, technology teams, and operations to develop and operationalize workflows in support of value, access, efficiency, and quality care.
  6. Works closely with Managed Care contracting to assure that care programs and payor contracts align and appropriately move practices toward positive VBC performance and outcomes.
  7. Works with Marketing and Clinician Leadership to assure programs are implemented and disseminated and replicated across the entire network.
  8. Collaborate with a highly regarded team of program/product managers and data analysts.
  9. Provides leadership within the Medical Team and Enterprise to breakdown silos and create a servant-leader culture.
  10. Additional projects, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises senior level business analysts/healthcare informatics specialists and program/product managers.  Will work in collaborates with staff throughout Medical, Operations, BA, Finance, Clinician Services, and regional leadership to implement and monitor programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree, MPH, or PhD related to business and/or health care  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years in a healthcare or payor environment
  • 5+ years’ experience in analyzing all forms of healthcare data including claims, population health, risk stratification, etc., and in the operations of electronic health systems and records.
  • 5+ years of program development in a healthcare or healthcare targeted environment.
  • Experience with value-based care programs and contracting
  • Proven experience positively supporting, partnering, and engaging with a clinician workforce.
  • Experience implementing and monitoring third party relationships.
  • Strong experience related to dissemination and implementation of key initiatives.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFIATIONS

  • Advanced level of medical training: MD/DO/APRN/PA/RN or equivalent
  • Direct clinical experience
