Job Description:

This role reports to AML Risk & Control's KYC Business Risk Approver Manager. The analyst will be responsible for managing all processes executed in support of New Product Approvals, regardless of function, and ensuring that all potential AML risks associated with new or expanding products have been identified, addressed and mitigated prior to product approval. This role is designed to evaluate and mitigate Citi's exposure to potential reputational, legal, and financial risks presented by money laundering and terrorist financing within the product scoping lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with various stakeholders, including business and compliance to track completion of risk assessments
  • Manage the book of work for both new and post launch product risk assessments and initiatives from product scoping to product launch for the money laundering and sanctions risk stripes.
  • Determine whether NPAs are in-scope or out of scope per AML Compliance Risk Management (ACRM) standards
  • Identify AML-related risks, control gaps, and process inefficiencies within in-scope NAM products
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to develop and drive solutions to AML-related risks
  • Interpret and understand AML and governing policies to ensure product processes are adherent
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Global New Product Approval Standard and enforce compliance among stakeholders
  • Proactively analyze new and expanding products within Citi Risk & Controls and meeting platforms to develop an independent assessment/opinion of inherent risk; probe stakeholders to understand the associated controls and residual risk
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with key partners (eg - NCC, PBNAC, NAM Sanctions, Global AML, Compliance teams, etc.).
  • Track and monitor all One-Time (Post Launch) and Ongoing Incremental AML Commitments and Conditions (C&Cs) that are identified and maintained in the AML NPA System
  • Maintain an up-to-date AML NPA Records Inventory in the Records Management Governance Tool (RGMT)
  • Provide timely responses for information requested during reviews or audits

Job Qualifications:

  • Mastery of AML regulations, risks, and typologies
  • Experience: 5+ years of financial services, risk & controls, project management or process re-engineering
  • Must be forward-thinking, flexible, innovative and adaptive
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to simply articulate complex problems and solutions with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to navigate a complex, dynamic organization
  • Experience working with stakeholders both within and outside the first line of defense
  • Excellent project management, planning, communication and organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Advanced degree desired
  • Relevant AML Certification desired
