Job Description

Bank of Marin, voted by our employees as one of the "Best Places to Work" in the North Bay Business Journal, is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our Systems Services Team in Novato.

In a team-oriented environment, the Business Systems Analyst will be the technical lead on a project or may serve as a consultant to colleagues in other departments, assisting them in understanding and meeting their own technical needs. The Business Systems Analyst should be able to operate with a high degree of autonomy, generally requiring little or no guidance, but operating within the scope of required security and confidentiality. The Business Systems Analyst is expected to apply knowledge to complete highly complex assignments across multiple departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent the bank in a positive, courteous, friendly and professional manner at all times, including direct client contact (internal or external), as well as telephone, email and other methods of communication.
  • Elicit business requirements, functional designs, cross functional implications and implementation plans for banking applications such as Loan Origination Systems and CRM solutions.
  • Develop deep functional and technical subject matter expertise in deposits/loans by understanding either the loan origination or loan servicing system, including the core banking platform s loan sub-system; deposit operations systems and/or other bank systems.
  • Participate in user interviews, analyze business needs and propose system solutions
  • Interact with multiple stakeholders including Product Managers, Subject Matter Experts (SME) and Technology teams using excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Reconcile high level information received from multiple sources, identify any missing gaps and create detailed business requirements that meet the business need within the scope of the initiative
  • Meet and transform client needs into well-defined business requirements that our technical team can fully understand and leverage to create functional design requirements
  • Understand complex topics and translate them into diagrams (context, workflow, activity, etc.) and document using standard tools (i.e. Word, Visio, Excel, etc.)
  • Participate in all necessary phases of the product development lifecycle; track/manage issues and project plan through the lifecycle of the project
  • Effectively capture and prepare content for decks to communicate business, operations and technology issues for appropriate audience usually Project Team and Steering Committee
  • Take the lead to ensure design and integration of proposed solutions meet all business and regulatory requirements
  • Combine research and recommendations with requirements for systems or process changes
  • Consult with users and vendors to develop detailed analysis of user requirements, business specification, workflow and reporting requirements
  • Work with vendors, project team members and IT to understand system functionality, dependencies and constraints to refine requirements, propose approaches solutions for delivery options and timelines
  • Concisely translate and convey the functional configuration features or constraints into business impacts for varying levels of stakeholders
  • Assists with user acceptance testing planning and criteria specification for various business unit systems.
  • Understand, coordinate, test, and implement/participate in application releases, upgrades, fixes, maintenance, changes, optimizations and provides status updates
  • Document and communicate changes to new or modified functionality

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the following: FIS, IBS core system and PeopleSoft Platforms (preferred). Banking Applications and General Ledger; Core Banking Systems, Operations and Accounting practices; how applications interface and relate to other systems; accounting and Financial Analysis reporting; and banking rules and regulatory requirements;
  • Project management skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to independently perform and analyze various types of testing such as negative, positive, regression and relational.
  • Ability to utilize various resources available to independently research questions, problems and alternative solutions and effectively present solutions

Education:

Bachelor s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of
experience and/or training.

Experience:

5 7 years related experience and/or training.
